COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — For the second year, Governor Henry McMaster held his economic summit event in partnership with the state department of commerce. The department reported more than $8 billion in capital investment in the Palmetto State last year. Governor McMaster cites South Carolina’s technical college system as a reason why companies choose to invest in the Palmetto State. South Carolina also is in the top 10 for fastest growing states in the nation. While South Carolina has enjoyed population growth, the increase in residents has increased the demand for power. The governor says the state should use an ‘all of the above’ approach. With President Donald Trump returning to the White House later this month, McMaster believes South Carolina’s brightest days could be ahead of it.
