Suspect in custody after triple homicide in St. Helena Parish

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The St. Helena Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a triple homicide in Amite.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies were called to the 1500 block of Sawmill Road or Par Road 37, just off of Leonard Chapel Road in Amite about an apparent triple homicide around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9.
One suspect is currently in the sheriff's office's custody at this time.
No further details about the homicide or motive were immediately released.
This is an ongoing investigation.
