Covington police warn residents of 'vicious' dogs on the loose
Jan 09, 2025
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Covington Police Department is in search of two "vicious" pit bulls, they say are on the loose and have killed multiple cats, dogs, and wildlife in the area.
The police department said on Wednesday that the dogs were in the area of East Ripley and North Main, Bethel Street, and the surrounding streets. They were last signed in the 500 block of North Main.
The CPD is urging residents to be vigilant while outside and letting pets and children out unsupervised.
One of the dogs is described as being a large pit bull mix, dark grey or black in color with white markings on the chest and feet. The other dog is a smaller white mixed breed, possibly a pit bull, with dark spots.
Police say they do not appear to be wearing collars and were possibly living behind the C-Town Market at an abandoned house on North Main.
The CPD shared a photo of one of the dogs caught on a ring camera Wednesday night.
