Santa Rosa police looking for sexual assault suspect

(KRON) -- The Santa Rosa Police Department is asking for the community's help in identifying a man suspected of attempting to sexually assault a female victim. On Monday, Jan. 6, the woman was walking in the area of Marlow Road and Jennings Avenue at around 1 a.m.
According to police, a man began following the woman, walking west on Jennings Avenue between Ridley Avenue and Marlow Road. The man, police said, "suddenly" appeared behind the woman and tried to talk to her.

She refused to engage but the man continued to follow her.
As she approached the intersection of Jennings and Marlow, the man grabbed her from behind and pulled her into the bushes. The man, police said, attempted to make sexual advances on the woman. However, she was able to fight him off and run away.
The suspect is described as a man in his 30s, around 5-foot 7-inches tall. Santa Rosa PD detectives are looking for more witnesses and video assistance that may assist in helping to identify him.
