EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - The Las Cruces Police Department (LCPD) is asking for the public's help in identifying those responsible for the shooting death of a 52-year-old man that happened last year.
LCPD said Crime Stoppers of Las Cruces-Doña Ana County is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to identifying the suspect or suspects.
At about 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, officers responded to the report of a vehicle that crashed on the 900 block of South Melendres Street, LCPD said.
LCPD said officers learned the vehicle rolled through multiple yards before coming to a stop with the driver, Benjamin Uribe, 52, trapped inside.
Upon investigation, it was determined that Uribe had been shot before the crash, and he died from his injuries, LCPD said.
LCPS said detectives believe that a silver or gray four-door sedan of unknown make and model, may have been used by the suspect or suspects.
Images of the vehicle were captured by a surveillance camera.
