FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Fresno Unified announced Wednesday that $400,000 in scholarships is expected to be available for its high school seniors. According to an announcement by the school district on Wednesday, they expect to award $400,000 in scholarships from the Fresno Unified Scholarship Fund at a minimum of $1,000 per recipient. The scholarships are available to students who plan to attend a community college, a four-year university or college or a trade or technical program. District officials say the scholarships do not have a GPA requirement. The application is focused on students' essays on their financial needs - and the experiences that have shaped their goals and aspirations. The deadline to apply is Sunday, March 16.
