Corrections officer injured in Soulsville shooting

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A Shelby County Department of Corrections officer was injured Tuesday night after a shooting in the Soulsville area, authorities confirmed on Wednesday.
Officers say they were called to Methodist University around 6:40 p.m. regarding a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound arriving in non-critical condition.
She was identified as a SCDC corrections officer.
After further investigation, police say the shooting took place in the 1100 block of Saxon Avenue.
