(CNN)– If you want to get a jump on filing your taxes this year, the Internal Revenue Service says its free file guided tax software will be available starting on Friday, Jan. 10. Those guided software tools are not written by the IRS. They come from trusted partners who are part of the free file program. But to make sure you get to use the software free, you must access the vendor sites through links at IRS.gov.
