UPDATE 6:00PM: CMPD responded to a call for an assault with a deadly weapon just before 4pm Wednesday. Police say preliminary information indicates the suspect was driving on I-485 and shot at another vehicle after a dispute. CMPD says two victims, traveling in one car, were hit by bullets. Both were injured but expected to be OK. During a search of I-485, NC State Highway Patrol and CMPD officers found the suspect’s vehicle and started to follow. The suspect was taken into custody on Ballybay Drive. ##### CHARLOTTE, NC – Medic says two people have serious injuries following a shooting on the ramp from I-485 Outer to South Tryon Street in southwest Charlotte. There’s no word on what led up to the shooting. A picture from the scene shows several bullet holes in a car. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating what happened.
