KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- While some school districts in the Kansas City metro are opening back up for the first time this week following this past weekends winter storm, some will remain closed or move to virtual learning. The Kansas City, Kansas School District and Piper School District have both announced there will be no school for students on Thursday and all school buildings will remain closed. The Turner School District in KCK will have a two-hour delay on Thursday. Winter Weather Advisory issued south of Kansas City metro Grandview, Raytown, Harrisonville and Center school districts have also announced they will be closed on Thursday. Kansas City, Missouri Public Schools, Hickman Mills, Raymore-Peculiar and the Belton School District have both announced they will have an Alternative Methods of Instructions (AMI) day on Thursday and students will need to check online for assignments.
