Metrobus continues to adjust services amid storm cleanup in DC
Jan 08, 2025
WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- As the cleanup continues in Washington, D.C. following the winter storm, Metro said bus routes will continue to see delays and routes may be adjusted because of impassable roads.
Metro said starting on Jan. 8 Metrobuses will run under a Moderate snow plan and include school routes.
Under this plan, 114 out of 193 bus routes will be in service. However, Metro said some routes may still be detoured due to roads being covered with snow and ice.

In an update just before 9 a.m., Metrobus added the following routes back in service; B21, C2, C21, C22, W5, W45 and 26A.
Officials said as road conditions improve, more bus routes will be added in the coming days.
In addition, Metro said Metrorail and MetroAccess were expected to run on normal service Wednesday with potential weather-related delays.
Metrorail posted on the X platform Wednesday morning that the Orange and Red Lines were running with delays due to winter weather conditions.
Trains on the Orange Line were operating every 15 minutes and trains on the Red Line ran every 10 minutes.
In an update, Metrorail announced that both train services returned to normal.
