MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A man is now in jail after police say he stole and damaged packages from the back of a United States Postal Service truck in the Highland Heights area Tuesday morning.
Memphis Police say they were called to a theft from the motor vehicle in the 3000 block of Hardin Avenue a little before 10:50 a.m.
A USPS mail carrier told officers that an unknown man went into the back of the truck and began damaging and stealing packages while she was trying to deliver mail.

As the man was getting out of the trunk, police say the mail carrier took a photo of him and sent it to her supervisor who then alerted police.
The supervisor met with police at a business close to the scene and a man who matched the photo was also inside. The man was then identified as Zeyad Elhoufy.
