West Fresno park to be closed for months for upgrades
Jan 07, 2025
FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A local park in west Fresno is going to be closed for a few months to make way for improvements, Fresno City Councilmember Miguel Arias announced.
City officials announced on Tuesday that Tupman Neighborhood Park, near Cesar Chavez Boulevard and Tupman Street, is set to be closed until May.
Arias says this closure comes following community support for Measure P, allowing for more than $500,000 to be allocated to upgrades.
Officials say some of these improvements the community can expect are new fencing, picnic table replacements and a new shade structure over the playground.
Given there are no unforeseen circumstances, Arias says the improved park will reopen in May 2025.
