NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Officers with the New Orleans Police Department are investigating a shooting that left a man dead in the St. Roch area on Tuesday, Jan. 7. The NOPD reported that a man was shot at the intersection of North Galvez Street and Elysian Fields Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Bogalusa mayor among seven arrested on drug trafficking allegation following investigation NOPD officials said officers got the call around 12:19 p.m. Police said all northbound lanes of Elysian Fields Avenue at North Galvez Street have been closed as part of the investigation. The NOPD did not release additional information.
