BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Bakersfield Police Department said it is investigating an overnight incident where an officer accidentally discharged his firearm during a call for service on New Stine Road.
Police department officials said an officer accidentally discharged his firearm during a response to a trespassing call at around 12:55 a.m. in the 100 block of New Stine Road.

While officers were calling the subjects out of the residence, an officer accidentally discharged one round from his firearm, according to police in a statement.
No one was struck by the fired round, police said. An administrative investigation into the officer was started.
