Swearing in ceremony held for new Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Holyoke's new police chief, Brian Keenan, was sworn in on Tuesday.

Keenan served in the Springfield Police Department for nearly three decades, including eight years as Captain. Former Holyoke police chief, David Pratt, retired back in July.
Keenan says he’s now ready to take on some of Holyoke’s biggest challenges, which include the city’s drug problem, prostitution, as well as gun and domestic violence, “Those are big challenges, multiple challenges, however, it’s nothing that we haven’t dealt with before.”
Holyoke Mayor Joshua Garcia, State Senator John Velis, and Hampden County DA Anthony Gulluni spoke at Tuesday's ceremony.
