Slidell mayor accepts job with Louisiana Governor's office

SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — Slidell Mayor Greg Cromer will be leaving his position more than a year early to take a job with Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry's office.
Cromer will be working with Landry's administration as the legislative liaison with the Department of Transportation.
He was elected as the 22nd Mayor of the City of Slidell in 2018 and re-elected in 2022.

Cromer's last day as mayor will reportedly be Jan. 20, and a special election will be held in October.
Slidell Councilmember Bill Borchert will serve as interim mayor.
