MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 16-year-old has been charged with making threats of mass violence on school property, after social media threats were allegedly made concerning Lausanne Collegiate School, Memphis Police said Tuesday. The teen has been taken to juvenile detention. Officers responded to the East Memphis private school Monday afternoon, where they were shown screen shots of an alleged "hit list" naming people at the school. A person whose name was on the list forwarded it to the principal, police said. Officers also saw other screen shots in which the suspect allegedly wrote "about being a school shooter," police said. Police say the suspect admitted to sending the threats on social media. The suspect's father said his son's social media had been hacked, according to police. Lausanne sent out an email to families that was obtained by WREG. The email reads in part, "Decisive action was taken to ensure that students remained safe on our campus." Homeland Security also made the scene.
