WILLISTON, ND (KXNET) — There is video, but not enough detail to identify people or vehicles. There's a $50,000 reward but, so far, no takers. Williston area resident Roger Shelton vanished from the Black Gold Casino near the North Dakota-Montana border on January 5, 2024, and neither he nor any tangible clues have turned up since then. It's not for a lack of trying. The Williams County Sheriff's Office has been following up on tips regularly since then but have yet to produce any new leads from the information. Roger Shelton's family has been actively looking for him over the past year, hanging missing posters in public places and online, and they have an sizeable $50,000 reward offer for credible information leading to Roger's whereabouts. A special Facebook page titled "Roger Shelton Missing," provides updates and comments on the search for Shelton. Despite all the efforts, what happened to Roger Shelton on or after January 5, 2024 remains a frustrating mystery. Roger Shelton’s last known public location was the Black Gold Casino, located at the North Dakota-Montana border in the evening hours of January 5, 2024. It is believed, but not certain, that he later may have traveled to his residence near the intersection of Hwy 2 and 146th Avenue NW on the west side of Williston, an area known as Freedom Meadows. The Williams County Sheriff's Office says in a statement that area security camera footage shows vehicle activity at Shelton's residence on January 6, 2024, between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. The footage suggests two vehicles drove through the subdivision of Freedom Meadows and stopped in front of Shelton’s house for a brief period. The footage also indicates one or more individuals may have exited the vehicle. However, the quality of the video is such that authorities are unable to identify any details about the vehicles or the individuals. So, one year after he disappeared, authorities and family members are still trying to find any clues or tips that could lead them to Roger Shelton and bring him back home. Shelton was born March 2, 1962 and stands 5' 5" tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos on his left arm: An outline of the Pink Panther character and the word "roach" written underneath.
