FOXBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — All eyes are on Foxboro after the New England Patriots parted ways with rookie head coach Jerod Mayo.
Mayo's firing came after the Patriots beat the Buffalo Bills in their season finale on Sunday. They finished the season with a 4-13 record.

In a statement, Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft said it was one of the hardest decisions he's had to make. He added that he's known Mayo for 17 years, but the team's performance did not go as he hoped.
Kraft has called a 1 p.m. news conference on Monday, which will air live on WPRI 12 and streaming live on the team's website.
Mayo had previously been the Patriots' inside linebackers coach since 2019 and also spent his entire eight-year playing career in New England. Mayo was drafted by the team in the first round in 2008 and named AP Defensive Rookie of the Year after that season.
He is now the first Patriots head coach since Rod Rust in 1990 to be fired after one season.
After Sunday's win, the Patriots will likely get the fourth pick in the 2025 NFL Draft instead of the first overall pick.
