MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A woman lost two dogs and two birds after her home in Whitehaven caught fire early Monday morning. The fire department says the cause was arson. The fire started during a domestic disturbance and caused $45,000 in damages. The home on Berta Road near Shelby Drive, where the woman lived for four years, is now a total loss. Unfortunately, she says they hid in her bedroom, where the fire started. She's had one of her dogs for more than 10 years. She says the only thing salvaged after the fire was her grandmother's Bible. A firefighter brought it out, opened on Psalm 23. The fire department said no arrests have been made.
