Norfolk airport runway reopened after private aircraft incident

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) -- Takeoffs and landings at Norfolk International Airport were halted due to an incident with a private aircraft.
Around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, a Velocity 173 SE suffered an apparent landing gear collapse when attempting to land on the runway.
The pilot, Robert Ian McClure, and his two children were aboard but did not suffer any injuries.
The aircraft came to a stop partially on Runway 5/23.
Runway 5/23 has since cleared and reopened to all commercial and general aviation traffic.
