PORTERFIELD, Wis. (WFRV) - One man was pronounced dead after a residential fire in Marinette County on Thursday evening. Multiple fire departments responded to a home in the Town of Porterfield on the evening of January 2, including the Peshtigo Fire Department and Grover-Porterfield Fire Department. Authorities say the fire was reported shortly before 4:30 p.m. and was reported to be fully engulfed with someone possibly still inside. Vehicle launched, flips multiple times in deadly Oconto Co. crash, 1-year-old sent to hospital After gaining entry, firefighters were able to pull the man from the home, however, he was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation. No additional information was provided.
