ENFIELD, Conn. (WWLP) - The Enfield Police Department brought a woman to the hospital Thursday night after conducting a wellness check and locating her in the area via drone.
Enfield police said that at around 9:46 p.m. on Thursday, police officers on the evening shift were called for a wellness check by individuals that received a call by a family member. They reported that she had left her home and had called, saying she was cold, intoxicated, and currently self-harming. The woman was unaware of her location and said she felt unable to stand.

Officers were notified that the woman was likely to still be in the area around her residence, and perimeter units began to look, while requesting assistance from the Drone Unit and K9 Unit. A drone surveyed the area around Asnuntuck Community College, where the thermal camera attached to the drone picked up the woman's heat signature inside the baseball field dugout.
Perimeter officers arrived at the college campus to provide aid, and Enfield Emergency Services brought the woman to the hospital.
