RICHMOND, Ind. -- Police are investigating after a man was killed in Richmond on Friday.
According to the Richmond Police Department, officers responded to an unwanted person call around 11:55 p.m., at the 600 block of South "P" Street. Upon arrival, they found a man lying in the street, bleeding and unconscious. He was later identified as 39-year-old Douglas D. Jones.
Richmond Fire Medics provided aid and Jones was transported to an area hospital. However, RPD said he died shortly thereafter.
Per RPD's initial investigation, Jones sustained a stab wound that came from an altercation with another individual.
The investigation remains ongoing. FOX59/CBS4 will update this article once more information is made available.
