HUGER, S.C. (WCBD) - Two people have died after they were struck while standing outside their disabled vehicle on a Huger roadway. Deputies with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office responded Halfway Creek Road on Friday evening for reports of a multi-vehicle collision  An investigation found that one of the vehicles was disabled in the road. Two of the occupants had exited the vehicle, and while outside, were struck by a passing vehicle. The sheriff’s office said first responders attempted life-saving measures; however, one of the victims died at the scene, while the other was pronounced dead at an area hospital. An investigation into the crash is ongoing. The coroner’s office has not yet released the identity of the victims.
