ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. (KSNW) -- An Arkansas City man arrested in December, accused of sexually assaulting a teen, has died.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation says around noon on Dec. 28, Brian W. Black, 40, was found dead outside of his home in Arkansas City. The bureau says Black died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He was out on bond following his Dec. 12 arrest on charges of three counts of rape, three counts of aggravated sexual battery, two counts of exploitation of a child, two counts of lewd and lascivious behavior, abuse of a child, and battery. The KBI was called in to investigate in September 2023 by the Cowley County Sheriff's Office after a 16-year-old girl reported Black had assaulted her.
His bond had been set at $500,000, and a preliminary hearing had been scheduled for Feb. 11.
