BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A home where an apparent murder-suicide happened last month, caught fire Thursday night. The Kern County coroner also released the names of the two people involved Friday. Firefighters responded to a home on Hosking Ave. near Highway 99 just before 7 p.m. Neighbors say its the same home where two people were found dead on Dec. 28. Burger Hut is good, but go somewhere else, owner says: He’s already too busy The coroner's office identified Juanita Gutierrez, 62, and Carlos Rafael Cardenas, 54, both of Bakersfield as the persons involved in the incident. Bakersfield police said, one person had multiple gunshot wounds and another suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The coroner did not specify which person was shot multiple times by the other. The relationship between Gutierrez and Cardenas is still unknown. The investigation into the murder-suicide and fire that burned part of the home remains under investigation.
