Delays for flights at Denver International Airport are projected to last through the morning, with the Federal Aviation Administration announcing a ground delay because of low clouds.

The FAA’s Ground Delay Program is meant to control the volume of flights entering an airport and may be implemented when inclement weather creates challenging flight conditions. A ground stop halts outbound air traffic.
Departing flights were temporarily grounded due to weather earlier this morning. Some arriving flights are currently being delayed by an average of an hour and 15 minutes, according to the FAA
As of 9:30 a.m., 247 flights were delayed Friday at DIA, according to flight tracking service FlightAware.
