ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Former City of Rochester employee Anthony Hall is facing new charges, this time for allegedly assaulting a police officer. Rochester police responded to the 1300 block of East Main Street Thursday morning for reported family trouble and a possible break-in. Officers found Hall in front of the location and they saw a broken screen on the window, but it was unclear who broke it. Officers said they asked Hall to leave multiple times, but he refused and argued with them. After finally agreeing to leave, Hall allegedly shoved an officer in the chest with both hands, knocking him back. Hall was taken to the Monroe County Jail and was charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest, second-degree obstruction of governmental assistance, and second-degree harassment. The officer was hospitalized for an upper body fracture and may be out of work for several months. Hall used to work for the City of Rochester and was the leader of Pathways to Peace, an organization that provides non-violent alternatives and support for local youth. He was arrested last August for allegedly stealing more than $1,000 worth of property from the Coalition of North East Associations. In November, Hall pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny. He is expected to be sentenced to 1 1/2 to three years in prison on January 21, 2025. Furthermore, Hall also led the Community Resource Collaborative, which had its funding suspended due to "fiscal mismanagement."
