WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A police chase in Winston-Salem ended in officers using the PIT maneuver to stop the suspect vehicle connected to a home shooting on Thursday morning. At around 9:10 a.m. on Thursday, police came to the 2700 block of East Sprague Street after getting a report of shots fired into an occupied home. Officers confirmed that a shooting had taken place and that nobody was injured once they arrived at the scene. Man dead, child shot after suspects shoot into Winston-Salem home on New Year’s Day Investigators say that unidentified suspects in a BMW fired shots into the home before driving away from the scene. Police later located the suspect vehicle in the area of Ardmore Road and Old Salisbury Road and attempted to pull the car over. The driver failed to heed lights and sirens and a brief chase began. The chase ended on the 2200 block of Pope Road after officers used a PIT maneuver to safely bring the BMW to a stop. Everyone inside the suspect vehicle was taken into custody without incident. Two guns were recovered from the car and no one was injured as a result of the chase. Police have yet to reveal the identities of anyone in custody but say that charges are forthcoming. The shooting is the second instance of shots being fired into a home in Winston-Salem in the new year. On New Year's Day, a man was killed a child was shot after shots were fired into a home in the city.
