McKee names RI native Chavalier as head of state national guard

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Governor Dan McKee has announced the next commander of the Rhode Island National Guard.
According to Governor McKee, Brigadier General Andrew Chavalier will be taking over as the guard’s adjutant general following the retirement of Major General Christopher Callahan later this month.
Chevalier, a Rhode Island native has served with the guard since 1990, including several leadership roles and multiple deployments overseas.
