MARIPOSA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - After seeking a vehicle allegedly linked to a possible kidnapping in Mariposa, the Mariposa County Sheriff's Office announced that "there was no crime that occurred."
On Wednesday just after 3:40 p.m., deputies shared a social media post requesting the public's help in finding a vehicle linked to a possible kidnapping in the area of downtown Mariposa.
The post followed witnesses' reports saying the occupants of the vehicle were involved in a possible fight or domestic violence situation that could have led to a possible kidnapping on New Year's Eve, according to sheriff's officials.
About an hour later, at 4:12 p.m., the sheriff's office shared an update, announcing the parties involved in the incident contacted their office, stating no crime was committed.
