CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Bad news for homeowners struggling with crumbling concrete foundations, A bill designed to help, did not make it past the deadline for this year's legislative session.
The state senate passed the bill on Monday which would have created an assistance fund for homeowners. But the house failed to follow up on the bill before the legislative session expired Monday night.
In a news release sent to 22News, State Senator Peter Durant said anyone who has seen the problem caused by crumbling foundations can understand the urgency. "It is extremely disappointing that our colleagues in the House have let down the residents of Massachusetts who are struggling to keep their homes," Durant stated.
