GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - The Shipyard Neighborhood Association has been honored with the 2024 Neighborhood Improvement Award from Green Bay Neighborhoods. According to a Facebook post from Green Bay Neighborhoods, this recognition highlights the neighborhood’s efforts to enhance its community through several impactful projects. Packers’ iconic “Ice Bowl” remembered 57 years later The Shipyard Neighborhood Association spearheaded improvements, including park renovations and public art initiatives. With the help of over a dozen volunteers, the new park design now complements a recently updated playground, creating a more cohesive and inviting space. The project also helps strengthen the neighborhood's identity. In addition to these improvements, the association teamed up with The Tarlton Theatre to present Keys to the City, an art and music festival. Volunteer-led campaign in Oshkosh is close to reaching it’s goal of $640k for an all-inclusive playground The event featured local artists and gave children the opportunity to interact with a permanent piano installation in the park, celebrating the area's rich waterfront history. Congratulations to the Shipyard Neighborhood for their dedication to building a vibrant, welcoming community for all.
