(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The El Paso County Coroner's Office has identified the motorcyclist who died in a fatal crash near the Broadmoor World Arena on Christmas Eve. On Tuesday morning, Dec. 24 at around 9 a.m., the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) was dispatched to Cheyenne Meadows Road and Venetucci Boulevard regarding a crash involving a car and a motorcycle. Upon arrival, they found the motorcyclist dead on scene. Due to the nature of the crash, the Major Crash Team was notified and responded to the scene. The crash is still under investigation, and speed appears to be a contributing factor. The Coroner's Office identified the motorcyclist as 19-year-old Dominic Gatlin on Thursday, Dec. 26. This was the 47th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs in 2024.
