(KRON) – A man was arrested after defacing the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety’s headquarters doors on Sunday, authorities announced Monday Around 2:40 p.m., officers said a man, later identified as Ryan Matthew O'Reilly, entered the headquarters picking up flower arrangements from a fallen officer's memorial, which he later discarded in the parking lot. He subsequently threw a small river rock through one of the front sliding glass doors and returned to the lobby, according to police.  Police said O'Reilly then “stood at the window for a few seconds, then picked up the rock and threw it through the other glass sliding door before exiting the lobby.”  ‘Locked door loophole’ bill set to take effect Wednesday The department’s records personnel contacted dispatch and their desk officer to report the vandalism.  O'Reilly was located nearby, according to police, and was arrested and booked into jail for multiple felonies.  Police said there was no one was injured in this incident.  Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety said the doors have since been boarded up and will be repaired.  The department asks residents/customers to use the red phone near the front lobby door, which directly contacts its records staff.
