Disneyland rolls out 2 new projection shows during 70th anniversary
Dec 28, 2024
A pair of new projection shows on the Carthay Circle and It’s a Small World facades will help cement the “Celebrate Happy” theme song in the minds of Disneyland visitors during the park’s 70th anniversary celebration in 2025.
The new projection shows will be part of Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration that kicks off on May 16 and runs through summer 2026 at the Anaheim theme parks.

The yearlong party will also feature the new “Walt Disney — A Magical Life” attraction, “World of Color Happiness” water show, “Wondrous Journeys” fireworks spectacular and Paint the Night and Better Together parades.
“Celebrate Happy” will serve as the overall theme of the 70th anniversary celebration, the title of the yearlong event’s new theme song and the name of a new character cavalcade on Main Street U.S.A.
The “Celebrate Happy” song will play as the soundtrack for the new state-of-the-art projection shows on the facades of It’s a Small World water ride at Disneyland and Carthay Circle restaurant at Disney California Adventure.
The twin shows will be presented in the evening during a “special moment” filled with music, lights and projection effects.
The Carthay Circle facade has been used as a canvas for thematic projections during holiday and after hours events — but never as the centerpiece for an entire musical show.
The Small World facade serves as one of the alternative viewing areas for Disneyland fireworks shows to lessen crowds in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle and Main Street U.S.A.Disneyland used the 30-foot-tall Small World facade in 2022 as a movie screen for a nighttime projection show based on the Oscar-winning “Encanto” animated film and set to the chart-topping “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” song.
The limited-time Encanto projection show played several times a night.
