Man threatens police: He says his intent to harm law enforcement came after he saw prison video

TOWN OF CLAY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — One man has been arrested and charged with a felony count of Making a Terroristic Threat after a nearly five-hour standoff in the Town of Clay.
On Friday at 11:55 p.m., 35-year-old Nathan McRae called 911 requesting police assistance. McRae stated that he was armed with multiple firearms.
When Onondaga County Sherriff's Deputies arrived at Braemar Drive, McRae told them he wanted to kill police officers and that he had several firearms.
A reverse 911 notification was sent to residents in the surrounding area advising them to stay in place for their safety.
The Sheriff's Office SWAT team arrived at the scene after McRae refused to exit his residence. The standoff lasted nearly five hours during which time there were negotiations between McRae and the Sheriff's Office SWAT team.
During negotiations, McRae revealed his intent to harm law enforcement stemmed from a correctional facility video released earlier in the day on Friday.

On Friday, December 27th, The New York Attorney General’s Office released videos from inside the Marcy Correctional Facility in Oneida County that show an inmate being beaten by staff while restrained. He later died.
At around 4:40 a.m. Saturday morning, McRae exited his apartment peacefully and surrendered to Sheriff's negotiators and SWAT members. McRae was taken into custody without incident.
Nathan McRae was arrested and charged with a felony count of Making a Terroristic Threat.
This is still an open investigation, search warrants are being executed to determine if McRae had any firearm in his possession.
