Teen charged with negligent homicide after another teen killed in shooting

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A 15-year-old was arrested in connection to a shooting that left another 15-year-old dead.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to an accidental shooting in the 4900 block of South Sherwood Forest Boulevard around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
A 911 caller said they had dropped a gun and it went off, hitting his friend. EBRSO confirmed the victim's identity as Kentrell Royal, 15.
The sheriff's office said the 15-year-old who was arrested was booked into the juvenile detention center on a charge of negligent homicide.
