BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A Los Angeles man is accused of driving drunk in an east Bakersfield crash, allegedly swearing and making physical contact with an officer who attempted to get him to perform field sobriety tests.
Gabriel Anthony Rodriguez, 24, was charged last week with felony DUI causing injury and misdemeanor resisting arrest. A court date hadn't been scheduled as of Thursday, and Rodriguez was not listed in custody.
The charges stem from a collision early Sept. 1 at the intersection of Oswell Street and College Avenue.
California Highway Patrol officers learned Rodriguez ran a red light while driving an Acura MDX north on Oswell Street, slamming into the driver's side of a Dodge Dakota, according to the filing.
The driver of the Dodge was pinned in and had to be rescued by firefighters. She had a broken left hand and possibly other injuries, the filing says.

Rodriguez admitted driving the Acura but was uncooperative and swore when an officer -- smelling alcohol -- asked further questions, the filing says.
The officer had him perform a field sobriety test, during which Rodriguez "jerked away from me and stepped on my foot," the officer wrote in the filing.
The officer placed Rodriguez against his patrol vehicle then took him to the ground as he continued resisting, the filing says. Rodriguez was arrested and booked into Lerdo Jail. It's unclear when he was released.
