(KRON) – For the first time, Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore in Oakland is hosting a “Free Furniture Friday” on Dec. 27.
According to ReStore, “Free Furniture Fridays were introduced as a way to double down on sustainability and keep even more treasures out of the trash.”
The donation-based home improvement outlet says “green-tagged free items” will be on many items, including furniture, lighting, home décor and building materials.

The event commences from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., which is the time the store closes.
Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore is located at 9235 San Leandro Street in Oakland.
“Free Furniture Fridays” is not new to ReStores. The Concord and San Jose locations have drawn large crowds, according to ReStore.
