COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- One person was seriously injured Tuesday evening after being hit by a car in a southwest Columbus neighborhood.
Columbus police said a pedestrian was walking south on Sullivant Avenue near the South Sylvan Avenue intersection at 10:30 a.m. As the pedestrian was crossing the road going north, a vehicle going east on Sullivant Avenue hit the pedestrian.

The victim was taken to a hospital with serious injuries and the driver of the vehicle did not stay at the scene after the crash. Police did not have details on the make and model of the car but believe it is maroon.
Columbus police's accident investigation unit is continuing to investigate.
