LUNENBURG, Mass. (WWLP) - A man from Lunenburg was charged in connection with possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in court on Monday, facing a minimum sentence of ten years in prison due to a prior conviction. Michael Myers, 37, was arrested on December 17 and has been in state custody since, consenting to detention pending trial. The charging document said that a search warrant was obtained by law enforcement for Myers' home, where they found multiple images and videos of CSAM. Two men arrested in Holyoke narcotics operation Myers had previously been convicted in 2015 for possession of child pornography and sentenced to two years of probation, and is a Level One Sex Offender. Due to his prior conviction, Myers' charge for possession of CSAM calls for a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years with up to 20 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. Myers made his initial appearance in court in Boston before U.S. Magistrate Judge David H. Hennessy. Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel Bennett of the Worcester Branch Office is prosecuting the case.
