AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Austin's Moody Center was named the top-grossing arena of its size in Billboard's 2024 year-end venues ranking, the venue announced on social media. The center also received the honor in 2022 — its first year open — for venues between 10,001 and 15,000 seats. RELATED: How Austin became the ‘Live Music Capital of the World’ The venue hosted an array of performers in 2024 including Usher, Vampire Weekend, Mariah Carey, Peso Pluma, Megan Thee Stallion, P!NK, Bad Bunny, Kings of Leon, Weezer, Maggie Rogers, Sabrina Carpenter, Kacey Musgraves, Alabama, Jelly Roll and many others. The CMT Music Awards have also been held at Moody Center. Moody Center opened in April 2022 to replace the Frank C. Erwin Jr. Center. The roughly 15,000-seat venue cost $375 million.
