NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A former Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans employee accused of misrepresentations concerning benefits has been arrested.

The Office of Attorney General Liz Murrill reported that 44-year-old Ederik Trask was arrested on Friday, Dec. 20, after an investigation into allegations that a former employee may have "knowingly committed Workers Compensation Fraud."

The attorney general's office stated that agents launched the investigation in August and allegedly found evidence that Trask was working for a rideshare company while getting workers' compensation benefits.
Trask reportedly surrendered to agents on Friday and was booked into the Orleans Parish Jail. He faces a charge of misrepresentations concerning benefits over $10,000.
