DARTMOUTH, Mass. (WLNE) — The victim’s name in a fatal pedestrian crash in Dartmouth has been released.
Police said 73-year-old Barbara Najjar of Dartmouth died on Dec. 17 after being struck by a vehicle.
Officials said emergency personnel responded to the area of Bridge Street and Water Street to find that Najjar had been struck while in a crosswalk.
Fire department personnel rendered aid, and Najjar was then transported to the hospital, where she later died.
Police said that the driver of the car remained on scene and that a preliminary investigation found that a “solar glare” may have contributed to the incident and that speed was not a factor.
The incident is under investigation.
