ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Mayday! Underground Crafts + Art held its "Last Minute Holiday Craft Fair" Sunday at the Harley School in Rochester. Around 30 local artists came together, selling goods like homemade cookies, to hand-crafted pipe cleaner figurines. Some of the available figurines and homemade creations during Sunday's event. (WROC/Trinity Wilson.) When talking to these artists, News 8 found that most had unique and colorful childhoods, starting with a passion of creation. One small business owner described work during the holiday season. "The local business is the person," said Kira Sinclair, owner of KiraArts. "Making stuff brings me joy and if the stuff that I make can bring joy to people, like, I've done my job. If I make you smile with my work, I've done my job." Holiday shoppers head to Eastview Mall for last minute gifts In Addition to artists, students from the Harley School raised money for their spring France trip by wrapping gifts and providing hot chocolate to shoppers!
