SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Authorities responded to Oak Park Independent Living Facility in San Diego Saturday night after receiving calls reporting that a man had been shot, the San Diego Police Department announced in a press release. The victim, 49, was found inside the building, located in the 3100 block of 54th Street, around 10:30 p.m. with an apparent gunshot wound to his torso. He was given first aid at the scene before being transferred to a nearby hospital. Police said the man did not survive his injuries. His identity is not being released at this time. At least nine people were inside the facility at the time of the incident, police confirmed. Detectives are now working towards interviewing them all and identifying exactly where the shooting took place. Investigators will also collect and review security video from the area.
