MOREHEAD, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- After leading Morehead State football to its third seven win season since 2008, Head Coach Jason Woodman is inking a deal to keep him coaching the Eagles though 2028.
“We are just beginning,” said Woodman. “I am excited for the future building a championship program here at Morehead State.”
In the former Fairmont State head coach’s first season, the Eagles went 7-5, won five Pioneer Football Conference games and finished third in the league.
MSU also won on the road versus rival Dayton and powerhouse Drake. The Eagles also ended the Bulldog’s 17 game winning streak that led the nation.
“Coach Woodman has brought immediate success to the field, but more importantly, he has established a culture and process that align perfectly with the values and vision of MSU,” said Director of Athletics Kelly Wells. “His leadership, dedication, and commitment to our student-athletes have been instrumental in building a foundation for sustained excellence.”
